Self-love is the vital process used to increase our love energy levels and live a harmoniously, kickass life!
I’m so glad you took some time in Step Three to explore how you currently show yourself love. Maybe you discovered you were a self-love-rockstar. Go you! Or maybe you realized your self-love game could use some work. Either way, it’s perfect. Awareness is key!
Step Three Recap
-Love Energy is a multidimensional force that is both the fabric of our existence, as well as, a flowing, dynamic connection with others and ourselves. It is the cure for the void.
-If we want to cure the void and achieve lasting fulfillment, we need to embrace love energy.
-We are the most bountiful and consistent mechanism to generate love energy.
First, let’s dig into this whole self-love thing. It often gets a pretty bad rap. When people hear self-love they think narcissism, selfishness, waste of time or unspiritual.
But what is self-love really? We show ourselves love when we take consistent actions in alignment with our highest good. As a result, we naturally create an abundance of love energy allowing us to courageously follow our divine purpose, have the energy and compassion to help others, raise the frequency for everyone around us, and more! Umm… heck yeah, self-love!
So once we’ve acknowledged something is missing (Step One), we understand how the void was created (Step Two), and embrace love energy (Step Three), the next step is to follow our highest good.
Wouldn’t it be great if we were each born with a handbook on how to live our unique life? A manual telling us which choices to make, which job to take, who we should marry, and so on. Unfortunately, we weren’t. We’ve been left to our own devices and trial and error efforts.
Or have we…?
Our highest good is our own personal North Star. It’s a shining light connecting us to our soul that guides us towards wisdom, inner peace and our divine purpose. So, even though we can’t crack open a manual and read it, we do get highly-customized wisdom for our path.
In fact, it’s so tailored for our specific journey, that it’s generally only the right guidance for us. What’s in our highest good may very well not be in someone else’s. This is because although we usually assume everyone is like us (or should be like us) they are not! Each one of us on our own unique road trip through what I call, Earth School. We are here to learn lessons and accomplish specific missions. Therefore, it is impossible to accurately compare any two lives or have a standardized handbook for all. Our truest compass through Earth School is our highest good.
While the term highest good may be unfamiliar to the conscious mind, it’s definitely nothing new to the more infinite aspects of ourselves. You see, deep down we usually know what’s in our highest good. The tricky part is that it’s not always the most feel-good, easiest, socially-acceptable option. So, we rationalize our way out of it, poll others’ opinions, or make pros and cons lists to determine which decision to make instead. This clogs up our love energy flow and creates disharmony, inside and out.
However, moving in the direction of our highest good, increases our love energy levels creating radiant health and happiness. Because I want nothing more than for you to be overflowing with love energy and finally feel fulfilled and happy, I’m gonna briefly teach you how to tune in to this invisible handbook and determine your highest good.

Ready?! Let’s do it.
When accessing your highest good, how you ask the question is superduper important. Steer clear of the phrases like ‘What should I do?’ or ‘Could I’ fill-in-the-blank?
Leave out the shoulds and coulds, and instead, ask:
“In this situation, what is in my highest good?”
Other people involved? No sweat. Ask:
“What is the highest good for all concerned?”
After clearly stating to yourself and the Universe you’re seeking what’s in your highest good, you can determine the answer by one (or all) of the following methods.
Method 1: Listen to Your Inner Voice (or Intuition)
When you are quiet, still and venture within yourself, you can hear your inner voice. It’s not the negative, crotchety inner critic commenting on everything you do, but a more subtle, genuine voice inside of stillness. When you hear it, it rings with Truth. You may experience it as a deep inner knowing.
You might be used to referring to this guidance as your intuition. Some people may have decided or learned to ignore their inner voice long ago. And after stifling it for years, it can become incredibly hard to hear.
If this has been your experience, it’s okay. Your inner voice is indeed, still there; it just needs to be strengthened. You’ll have to practice getting still, asking the right questions, listening to and trusting it, so that it can grow stronger and come in loud and clear again!
Method 2: What’s Left?
After stating your question, then strip away your thoughts, your feelings, and your desires. What’s left is the truth or your highest good, free of all filters. Follow this direct knowing and inner wisdom.
Method 3: Be Bright
Take a deep breath and exhale slowly. Tune into your body. Notice how it feels. Become aware of the subtlety of your aura field or the space just outside your body. Don’t judge anything, just be aware.
Then, consider your question. As you explore the options or directions you may take, try and sense whether something makes you feel bright and expansive or heavy and contracted.
Choose the path that lights you up!
This may seem obvious, but after you receive your answer, follow your highest good!
Now, I acknowledge sometimes this can be harder than it sounds. The world is rarely friendly to those who bravely step outside of societal norms and conformity to pursue authenticity and self-love. People may expect certain things from you that are not in your highest good and you can no longer deliver. You may have agreements that need to be renegotiated. You may need to find a new tribe or group of friends.
Hold tightly to this: You are worthy of a love-filled life. You are in control of your own love energy levels. Loving yourself and following your highest good are essential to feeling fulfilled and joyful. At the end of the day, this is YOUR life. How do you want to live it?
Challenge
This week, you’re going to practice determining what’s in your highest good –and follow it! In your journal, describe the situations when you chose to follow your highest good, what method you used to determined it, and your overall experience. Pay attention to your love energy levels.
1. Each day, find a situation where you need to make a choice. It’s okay to start small! For example: what time to go to bed; what to eat for breakfast; what movie to watch, etc.
2. Ask yourself: “What is in my highest good?”
3. Practice using the three methods to determine the answer. Note in your journal which one you preferred and why.
4. Follow your highest good!
5. Track your love energy levels in your journal.
*Keep in mind, your love energy is different than your emotions. Love energy sits below the swirling and fleeting feelings.
Let’s use this scenario for example: It may not be in your highest good to go to a party. When you tell your friend you’re not going, she get upset with you. As a result, you feel terrible and experience the emotions of guilt, sadness, and disappointment. But underneath, you feel good about your decision. There’s a sense of strength, empowerment and love. This is your love energy.
