Awesome. You’ve acknowledged something feels “off” or like something’s missing inside (Step One). You’ve realized you’ve been unconsciously trying to make this empty feeling go away with all kinds of methods from overeating to seeking others’ approval to thrill seeking, and nothing works for very long. The void, a mysterious and gloomy black hole inside, rears its ugly head again (Step Two). You might try to numb it with drugs or alcohol, but those too are short lived.
Step Two Recap
-We need two essential nutrients to thrive: food and love.
-We weren’t taught how to give love to ourselves, so seek it from external people and things.
-Outside love energy only temporary soothes our void.
Step Two Recap
-We need two essential nutrients to thrive: food and love.
-We weren’t taught how to give love to ourselves, so seek it from external people and things.
-Outside love energy only temporary soothes our void.
You see, after the void begins, we have absolutely no idea how to cure it. Even worse, some attempts to soothe it, only make it more pronounced.
And while we endure cycles of seeking, consuming and discontentment, our society and economy thrive. Depression and addictions fuel profitable healthcare industries. Prescription drugs are prescribed to soothe painful emotional side effects of the void. Material items are sold with the promise of fulfillment and happiness. Where would we be if we realized our permanent happiness was found in an energetic nutrient we can produce ourselves?
Let’s get very clear on this one point: The void, feeling unhappiness or even, intense emotional pain, isn’t a physical-world problem. It’s an energetic one.
The real issue behind unfulfillment, unhappiness, discontentment, and painful emotional suffering is due to low love energy levels. We can’t see it like a rash, it doesn’t come up in any diagnostic tests like blood counts, but we can FEEL it. Or rather, the lack of it.
But why is this so prevalent in our society? Simply put: we never looked at it from an energetic perspective. We never understood that we were low in a specific kind of energetic nutrient and unconsciously seeking to heal ourselves. Therefore, we couldn’t have realized attempting to fill ourselves with outside love energy is simply unsustainable. It’s inconsistent, insufficient, and ultimately, ineffective.

Imagine embarking on an exciting road trip, but you can only get one gallon of gas from each station you pass. If you’re in a city, it might be inconvenient, but you might do alright. However, if you want to venture into the sprawling countryside, it won’t be long before you’re stranded on the side of the road. You’ll be at the mercy of others to rescue you and deliver you to the next gas station where you’ll fill up another gallon and be in the exact same predicament in no time flat.
When we live our lives with minimal love energy, somewhere deep inside us, we know there’s a limited amount. We don’t want to end up stranded on the side of the road, so we stay where it’s safe and can refuel a gallon at a time with relative ease. If we choose to courageously venture forward anyway, we are met with the same fate as the car; broken down, empty, lonely, and looking to others to save us. Although we may eventually get to our desired destination, it takes a much longer time and is far less fun driving on limited fuel. The exciting road trip of life turns into an exhausting mission to simply keep driving.
So what to do? Learn how to fill up the entire tank –and keep it full!
It’s time to embrace love energy.
Like the void, love energy is not easy to define. It’s the intangible essence that makes life a joy to live. It’s a multidimensional force that is both the fabric of our existence, as well as, a flowing, dynamic connection with others. Far out, right? It’s the totally satiating and soothing nectar we crave and what Home feels like to our soul.
Love energy vibrates at the highest frequency and radiates at the center of our being. It cannot be seen, but it can be deeply felt. It is the one true cure for the void.
So how do we fill up on this superfood for the soul?
We cure our void by embracing this life-changing truth:
I am the most effective and consistent mechanism for increasing my love energy.
When we take responsibility for generating our own love energy we become a self-sufficient badass. Yeah, I said it. Self-sufficient. When we meet our own energetic needs our life transforms from the inside out. Outside love become likes whip cream on coffee: sweet and delicious, but not essential.
No more codependent relationships, seeking others approval, or feeling uncomfortable in our own skin. Our happiness is no longer dependent upon others mood swings or desires, on the weather, or the uncontrollable circumstances unfolding in our lives. We set healthy boundaries, pursue our divine purpose and attract loving relationships. When our love energy becomes abundant, it fuels our joy and inner peace. We feel full and satisfied. Rock. On.
Challenge
This week, consider all the ways you currently create your own love energy. Keep a notebook or your journal nearby and jot down the methods and situations when you express self-love.
1. Keep a running list over the next 2 days of all the ways you currently show yourself love.
For example: Maybe…
…when you overslept, forgot something or made a mistake, you showed yourself some compassion.
…you choose to eat nutritiously, instead of junk food
…you made time to meditate or move your body
…you celebrated yourself when you did something well
Next, explore the relationship you have with self-love. Grab your journal and do some free writing using the questions below and a starting point. Don’t judge whatever comes up. Just allow it to be there. Be gentle with yourself. You may want to talk to a trusted friend as well.
2. How does it feel when you show yourself love?
3. When you get quiet and go within, do you feel any resistance to showing yourself more love?
